If you had three 7s in your hand and I discard a 7 you would pick it up, right? I spot this sort of thing in other games in the set too.īut overall, it does not stop me playing. Why? So when the hands are shown at the end of each game, it is obvious the computer could have got a better score. Hence the 5th star not awarded.įor example, in the Gin Rummy game, the app often does not always pick up discards that would fit into its runs and sets.
If you like playing cards, this is the best set available in my opinion. Perhaps you aren't as good as you thought! Perhaps there are other reasons for accusing the AI of cheating.
I think the package offers fantastic value and is as good as any card playing game I have tried and better than many. However, it plays and sometimes beats me. If it were human it would learn from its mistakes whereas the AI doesn't appear to. It makes some silly mistakes occasionally. It plays to the standard of a human who has played Canasta in the past and still enjoys the odd game. The opposite if anything.Ĭertainly I have played better opponents than the inbuilt one but, and it's a big but, this is a game written by someone a lot cleverer than me. This does not concur with the afore mentioned reviewer's conclusion. When I first played against the CS AI I lost quite a few games, now, because I have learned some of its tactics, I can win most sets. My favourite game of the massive list supplied is Canasta, a terrific game. I notice one reviewer accuses the AI of cheating and I do sometimes accuse "Spite & Malice" (Great card game available in App Store). "Out of all of the solitaire type card games I have tried, this one is by far the best I have come across in quite a long while." - Featured as an outstanding app in Wired Magazine's 2011 App Guide!
